Mouse Acceleration vs Raw Input: How to Pick Without Confusion

Raw input is predictable. Acceleration changes sensitivity based on speed. Both can work — but only if your timing and settings stay stable.

When Raw Input Wins

  • You want consistent muscle memory across games.
  • You hate day-to-day feel changes.
  • You prioritize stability over convenience.

When Acceleration Can Make Sense

  • You intentionally trained it and keep it unchanged.
  • You need faster turns without ultra-high base sensitivity.
  • You accept tradeoffs in micro-precision.

Rule: if you change acceleration curves often, you erase your baseline and blame your aim.
